I puchased this tractor from the Hackenberger Collection in Mansfield last year. It was restored sometime in the 1980s and used sparingly since. It was stored indoors along with hundreds of other cars and tractors. I planned on showing it last summer but family plans got in the way. These are such beautifully designed tractors and it was a pleasure to own it. It features an older restoration with good paint and decals. Serial number 01104158 identifies it as a late 1950 model UTU. Tractor and runs strong in all gears. Restarts easy and doesn’t overheat. It takes a small shot of starting fluid to get it going when its been sitting. Hand clutch works great, steers easily. Working brakes and lights. (one headlight bulb is burnt out). Dash panel light works intermittently. Has a factory hydraulic system – untested. 13.6-38 rear tires. One looks like new, the other went flat in storage and has one 4 crack and some dry cracking on the sidewalls, but airs up ok. I broke it down and replaced the tube but must have pinched it a little on reassembly, as it leaks down over a week or so. One front tire looks new, the other is mismatched and has a strip of tread coming loose. It does not come with a battery – It uses an odd size 6V so I borrowed a larger battery from my Packard and strapped it to the side just so I could drive it around. This is about the size of a Farmall M and weighs about 5500 lbs. Tractordata lists it at 35hp drawbar/42hp belt. Its about 90″ wide and 140″ long. It’s just a little too wide for most car trailers. We might be able to slide the wheels in a few more inches so it would fit, but I can’t guarantee it. Would be best to haul it on a deckover or equipment trailer.
